Volunteers Needed

Red Bluff Little League runs solely off of volunteers. Every family is strongly encouraged to help out during the season so it can run as smoothly as possible. A $50 work bond may be requested at the beginning of the season that is paid in full at registration and can be earned back after volunteering at least 5 hours during the season. 

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Concessions* - training always provided, 2 hour shifts
  • Scorekeepers - training provided, minors & major league
  • Cleaning bathrooms - empty trash, refill soap dispenser, toilet paper rolls, paper towels
  • Chalking the field before games, refilling chalk dispensers
  • Watering the field before games on windy days
  • Putting in the bases & returning them to the chalk shed after games
  • Setting out the trash cans before game
  • Emptying trash into dumpster & returning cans to batting cages
  • Umpire* - training provided, stipend offered
  • Manager - head coach, point of contact
  • Coach - up to 2 rostered per team for Minors & Majors
  • Team Parent - maintaining roster and order in dugout
  • Join the Board of Directors*

Volunteer Background Check

Little League International requires all leagues and districts in the United States to conduct an annual background check, including a nationwide criminal search and a search of the National Sex Offender Registry. Little League preferred provider, J.D Palatine, has a Criminal File database that contains more than 600 million records, including criminal and sex offender registry records covering 50 states and the District of Columbia, meeting the current Little League Regulation 1(c) 8 & 9 requirement.

Steps to Register as a Volunteer


  • Create/log in to your sports connect account by clicking login on the top right of this website.
    Click "Volunteer" on the left menu.
  • Click "Find Volunteer Roles"
  • Click "2026 Spring Baseball" or "2026 Spring Softball" (for umpires use 2026 Spring Baseball, regardless of which division you'd like to umpire.)
  • Find your desired role, click on it, and follow the steps to fill out the online application. Be prepared to provide your photo ID.
