RBLL has officially canceled their spring season.
After holding out for many months and doing everything within our power to get the kids back on the field we have been forced to accept the unfortunate fact that there are just too many road blocks from above to allow us to finish a spring season this year. We are now switching gears and focusing on our fall league in hopes of making that our playable season for 2020.
The board was able to meet last night to discuss moving forward and to go over expenses. Since RBLL is a non profit organization we often immediately reinvest the money received right back into the league to get everything prepared for the season
i.e, uniforms, hats, baseballs,Softball’s,bases, chalk, field maintenance items, PG&E, Garbage, water, etc etc. we also want every kid possible to be able to play baseball so we sponsor qualifying parents so their kid(s) get the chance to play baseball with their friends. We sat down and tried to figure out how we could give at least something back to the parents. We calculated what items can still be used next season as well as what costs we were forced to consider a loss. We came to the conclusion that we would be able to give a partial refund of 25.00 per player for T-Ball and Farm leagues and 30.00 per player for Minor and Majors.
Refunds will be given in person on a couple of different dates in hopes to give everyone an opportunity to show up that wishes to. Refunds will be held at the RBLL fields on:
*Thursday July 9th from 6pm-8pm
And the final date will be
*Saturday July 11th from 8am to 12pm.
In order to collect the refund you must be registered as a Primary Guardian on the players registration form that was completed at the beginning of the season. If you choose to not receive a refund or do not make one of the dates listed above, the refund amount will be put back into the RBLL as a donation to the league and will help us continue to keep our registration costs one of the lowest in the district.
The dates listed above will also be a time for all coaches to return the gear bags that were issued to your team at the beginning of the season. Anyone still needing to turn in candy money are strongly urged to do so at the dates listed above as well.
This is not how we wanted this season to end. RBLL was one of the last in the district to call the season. I encourage all parents to still practice with their child and go over drills any chance you can get. We will post updates on fall ball as the details become available.
