Key Elements to Success in RBLL

Key elements to becoming a successful Little League Manager/Coach:

  • Fill out a Volunteer Application -apps are located under "Forms and Tools"
  • Attend the Managers Meeting held prior to the beginning of the season. This is where you will receive your team Rosters, Equipment, and all of your teams candy  to hand out for the RBLL Fundraiser.
  • Make contact with your players/players family right away. Let them know who their Team manager is and what team they are on. This is also a good time to try and schedule your first team practice. (check practice schedule for your teams time slots for field use)
  • Keep close accountability on how many boxes of candy or raffle tickets  you hand out and to which parents you hand them out to. Also keep track and document every payment you receive from the parents to alleviate any confusion or miscommunication later on.
  • Download the "SportsEngine" app on your phone/Tablet or Computer. Encourage all parents to download the app as well for team communication, pictures, announcements, schedules and more.
  • Once you receive your game schedule be sure to input ALL HOME GAMES  as well as game TIMES and OPPONENT   IN TO SPORTSENGINE so that it will be seen by your team and the league. It is also encouraged to make a team schedule that you can hand out to parents.
  • Keep parents informed! this means all information regarding practices, opening day, uniform information, picture day, CANCELED GAMES (rain outs/forfeits etc), candy sales, etc etc. Any announcement or information needed to be passed to the team shall only go through the Team managers/Coaches and staff. apps like SportsEngine, and Group Me have been used with success in the past.
  • in Minors and Majors league, be sure to enter the games final score on your game in SportsEngine.
  • Relax, Have Fun, and Enjoy the game of Baseball..

Coaches & Managers

One of the essential functions of coaches and team managers is to manage team communications with players and their families.  If you are a coach or team manager, SportsEngine has created a Team Management Guide for Coaches and Team Managers to help you use our website and mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate and manage your teams.

Manager & Coaches

What’s the managers role?
Every team has a manager. The manager acts as head coach and is the main point of communication for the team. The manager may choose up to 3 rostered coaches. Only managers are allowed to approach the umpire and challenge a call.

Coaches are essential to every team and help players develop their skills while teaching the fundamentals of the game. Coaches may be on the field for younger divisions to help players learn the basics of the game and act as umpire. Beginning in minors, official umpires are used and managers/coaches must be in designated 1st and 3rd base coach positions on field.
